Bonnie Meyer, Ph.D.
Dr. Bonnie Meyer is the Director of Work-Based Learning, joining the NaviGo team after more than 20 years in public education. In her role, Dr. Meyer partners with our region’s diverse businesses, organizations, and educational institutions to enhance career-connected learning opportunities and support workforce readiness initiatives for youth and families. Prior to joining NaviGo, she served as faculty in the Department of Educational Leadership at Miami University where she taught courses in educational leadership and school organization, and mentored student teachers. Prior to that she spent nearly ten years at Northern Kentucky University, serving in both student affairs and faculty roles.
Dr. Meyer brings extensive experience in leadership development and community engagement. A strong advocate for collaboration, she has cultivated meaningful partnerships among schools, families, businesses, and community organizations throughout Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati. She has led initiatives aimed at fostering equity, improving educational outcomes, supporting collaboration, and guiding institutions through periods of strategic growth and change. She is deeply committed to community partnerships and engagement, and in her free time serves on statewide and local boards and committees.
Dr. Meyer earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, a Master of Arts in Teaching, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership, Culture, and Curriculum, all from Miami University. She is deeply influenced by her upbringing in rural Ohio, challenges of early motherhood, and experiences as a first-generation college student. Bonnie dreamed of becoming an educator as a child and pursued education as a pathway to opportunity. Navigating many challenges as a first-generation college student, alongside the experience of raising two young children reinforced a mission – Every student, regardless of background, must have access to the support and opportunities they need in order to succeed. Dr. Meyer has spent her career championing student-centered practices, rallying strategic partnerships, and moving barriers to achievement.
Bonnie is a very proud Covingtonian and mom of Alyssa and Kyle (& Jade), all of whom reside in Covington. She and her wife, Katie, live in the Austinburg neighborhood with their dog, Luci, where they spend most of their time renovating their 19th century Italianate, gardening & documenting bird visits to their yard, rooting for the Reds, and sharing photos of their new grandson.
